Once upon a time, Catching the Moon was only available in hardcover, but now it's in paperback and in digital editions for Kindle and iPad! Myla's acclaimed children's book, beautifully illustrated by Chris Sheban, tells the tale of a Fisherwoman who starts fishing at night with something much different than fish in mind. A favorite among adults and children alike.
Myla is honored to be the recipient of a grant from the Sustainable Arts Foundation, whose mission is to support artists and writers with families. Thanks S.A.F!

Want to work on your writing in 2014? Myla is excited to be offering two four-week fiction workshops to kick off the new year, one on each side of the river. The Manhattan workshop will start on Wednesday, January 8th. The Brooklyn workshop will start on Wednesday, February 5th.
Each writer will have the chance to present work once, with additional time to discuss published stories from the perspective of craft, a model based on the classes and workshops Myla has led at the MFA fiction programs of Columbia, Sarah Lawrence, and Brooklyn College. Together the group will foster a workshop environment of thoughtful, constructive critique to allow each writer to hone stories that draw from tools such as observation, revelation and plain old charisma to craft the kind of tale that draws a reader in and doesn’t let go.
